Monthly Updates

Altamonte – From the Inside

Each month, we have articles with a different view: From The Inside. Whether it’s government departments, State Legislative action that impacts our area, local issues or even Uptown Altamonte, the articles will have the inside track on what’s really happening. It will always be from a positive angle.

That’s our function, - to report on what’s happening or going to happen that will affect your lifestyle, in a positive way. Plus all the lifestyle and business articles, with information you can’t find anywhere else.

You’ll have it all in your mail, FREE

Like they say, “It was only a matter of time”. With all the growth and development, Altamonte has its own stories and local issues that need its own newspaper. You’re reading that newspaper. The Altamonte Springs News [ASN] is published by the same people who publish the very successful Rock Springs News in Apopka.

The Publication clearly exemplifies the ‘Feel Good’ concept, that makes the ASN so unique. There is No Crime or Negative News. We get enough of that from other media. When you finish reading the ASN, you won’t feel like locking your door.

The residents of Altamonte want a home and a community that allows them to enjoy whatever leisure time they have in their hectic schedule.

Leisure time activities are what creates a lifestyle. They can range from working on the home, soaking in the pool, gardening, partying with the neighbors, spending quality time with the family, enjoying hobbies or just laying back.

Publisher, Dan Cetrone described the ASN as “Part of a new breed of publications that provide important information not available elsewhere.”

Altamonte Springs News Launches Campaign Volunteers for Servicemen & Veterans

Publisher Dan Cetrone, Chairman and Organizer, summed up the campaign, “The Volunteers-For-Veterans is a America Ribbonnationwide campaign that makes it easy for anyone to show their appreciation, - To Give Thanks to Those Soldiers Who Have Volunteered to Put Their Lives at Risk.

The VSV finds out what the veterans want or need, - especially the wounded vets, - and gets it for them.

“We need to give thanks to these soldiers. They’ve volunteered to put their life on the line – every day. We certainly can volunteer to give some time, gifts or money to show our appreciation.”

There are several ways to participate, making it easy for anyone to become a Volunteer, - just like the soldiers. But, we don’t have the constant risk they face, or the injuries they have, in the VA Hospitals.

Cetrone explained, “The VSV is designed so that no one takes any salary. All the money goes to the soldiers - overseas and in the Veteren's Hospitals. Before I was going to get involved, I had to be sure all the money would go to the soldiers and vets.”

Plans include a concert series starting in Central Florida next spring.

Parents and families with soldiers on duty are being urged to send an e-mail to the soldiers to find out what they want or need. Soldiers Then, whatever it is, the VSV will get it for them. Sometimes it’s as simple as a Sno-Cone Machine [especially in the hot desert areas], - other times it’s unique special needs, like handi-wipes, or just a hometown newspaper. The Altamonte Springs News is sending copies to any soldier that requests it.

The VSV will do the same thing for the wounded vets in the hospitals and at home. “Whatever they need, we’ll get it for them!” Cetrone said.

The local VFW will be handling some of the logistics – like arranging for some of the items to be shipped overseas.
